Christoph can look back over more than three decades professional career in commercial and M&A transactions. Geographically Christoph has worked on and led transactions in many jurisdictions, including Russia, the US, China, Japan and most European countries. Besides pure M&A transactions, Christoph is well versed in structuring complex multi-layer deal settings and long lasting partnerships, including cross border multi-entity joint ventures as well as transactions on the buy and sell side.
After his initial years in a prestigious local law firm Christoph set up his own firm, which was focused on commercial transactions and corporate M&A activities. The firm’s clientele was centred around the City of Stuttgart and the German Mittelstand, including Getrag, the former industrial asset of the Hagenmeyer family. Christoph was involved in all M&A related transactions of the Getrag group, thus participating to the growth of the company from 3,700 employees and a revenue base of roughly 1billion Deutschmarks to a workforce of 15,000 employees and revenue base of €4billion. He joined THI after exiting his law firm in 2013 as managing director and was lead counsel in the family’s exit from Getrag. He has worked on more than €5bn of transactions during his career.
Christoph holds a legal degree and bar admission as well as a PhD in international private law from the University of Tübingen. In his private time Christoph enjoys outdoor activities with his family and devotes time to philanthropic engagements by serving as a “Stiftungsvorstand” (board member) for a large German charity foundation.
